Westward Yo PWD12

The Journey of shreducation continues westward. Feeling a little cooped up I decided to head west through the I-70 corridor to check on my buddy FerberPhoto (FP). With little if any precip in the forecast I figured I could locate a replacement set of Salomon F22's to wrap my pow flippers in and refuel on some Western Slope elk. It's basically all downhill once you hit Vail Pass.

A couple hours, and 130 miles, west of Vail Pass I-70 emerges from Glenwood Canyon into the western foothills of the Colorado Rockies. Pictured below, the Grand Mesa watching over Grand Junction Colorado could be considered the western overlord guarding the central gateway to Colorado Shred Country.

After spending his formative years charging the dredging pits of SoCal as a SeaSide Pirate, FP moved from beautiful Cardiff California to beautifully far from the ocean Grand Junction Colorado. His driving motivation....

Shoehorning tear-your-face-off horse power into Mazda Miatas. Yes that is an uncorked stock car sounding Corvette LS2 under the blue bonnet of that land missile.

Or do you prefer LS3? 500 ponies of Pavement Pounding Anger! Kinda like that caged panther you've been jabbing with a stick for a week all hopped up on PCP!

With the Suby up on one of FP's lifts I finally assessed the aftermath of the feisty Sasquatch I mowed over between Revelstoke and Rossland.
Dent 1 - unseen (out of frame) on the down-pipe from the turbo leading to the cat
Dent 2 - the Whack! in the front lobe of cat
Dent 3 - the claw marks in the underside of the uni-body on the left side of the exhaust
Dent 4 - the grapefruit size dent in the gas tank above and to the right of FP's Charlie Brown looking head.

When asked why he gave up the leftcoast for foothills, elk steaks and hush puppies, FP said he wouldn't have it any other way.... "In the summer I 4x4 and camp, in the fall I hunt, in the winter I shred pow, and in the spring I race cars. All the while shooting guns, drinking beer, building cars and fishing anything that moves."

Good as it does sound it's not as Snowmadic as I need to be. Though it would be cool to build race-ready street cars professionally, I need to maintain mobility. Shredding the same line at the same hill the same way day after day after day is fun for some, but for those who want more.... follow me for I have seen the mountains and they are good!
